His experience spans federal, state, and local levels, handling matters involving fraud, bribery, tax, securities, and more.

In addition to his litigation practice, Michael serves as outside general counsel to midsize and large companies, advising on compliance, employment, and strategic business issues.

Trip to Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Michael has served as the Honorary Consulate General for the Republic of Korea in Colorado since July 1, 2019. Recently, Michael was chosen to represent all Honorary Consulates in the United States at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Conference in Seoul, Korea hosted by Republic of Korea State Department (“MOFA”).

During the weeklong conference (September 14-20, 2025), Michael was able to meet with important decision makers to include Directors and Deputy Directors of the North American Offices at MOFA. The focus of their meetings and discussion was to continue to foster business and cultural exchanges with the United States. When he was not meeting with diplomats, Michael was able to meet with business leaders at Samsung, Hyundai Motors, and Pohang Steel for a behind the scenes look at their operations and future endeavors around the world.

Additionally, Michael was joined by other Honorary Consulates from around the world to include, Russia, India, Brazil, Sweden, Iceland, Romania, Thailand, Greenland, Liberia and Tongo. Not only were business connections made but also personal relationships were forged.

This trip was also significant to Michael on a personal level as he was able to reconnect with his motherland. Michael immigrated to the United States from Korea when he was 2 years old. When Michael graduated from West Point and became an officer in the United States Army, he spent 3 years in Yongsan, Korea. During this time, he was able to maintain his Korean heritage and develop relationships that still exist to this day. Michael’s Consulate trip was  a long-awaited home coming for him and a great opportunity to see how far the Republic of Korea has come.”

A Lifetime of Service

Michael graduated from the United States Military Academy, West Point in 1995. Following his graduation, Michael served in numerous leadership positions, leading the best soldiers in the world. During his nearly 7 years of active duty and 4 years of reserve service, Michael served as a platoon leader, company executive officer and company commander in various military installations across the world. Michael ultimately was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain.

As a veteran, Michael has been monumental in assisting active-duty members and veterans residing in Colorado. He often speaks at Korean War memorial/award ceremonies and talks with soldiers that may be stationing themselves overseas or deciding to transition into the private sector.

Duty, Honor, Country, the motto of West Point was a credo I lived by. I saw it as not a way of looking at certain things but a certain way of looking at all things.

We are honored to have Michael’s leadership, expertise, and dedication to excellence as part of our team.
