DANA R. OHMAN

Attorney

“Listening to and understanding clients’ needs are my top priority, and I use that insight to provide tailored, comprehensive advice that clients can stand by and rely on. I do my best work in tackling stressful, challenging situations head on and finding a clear path forward. Community Association Boards and managers are often the last to be recognized when things are running smoothly and the first to be criticized when things get difficult. I am happy to help make your jobs easier in any way I can.”

Dana came to SJJ with experience in both insurance and common interest communities, and it felt like a perfect fit right away. Starting as a paralegal, Dana learned the ins and outs of HOA law, working behind the scenes ensuring our practice ran smoothly. With her paralegal background, as an attorney, Dana has a unique perspective to offer clients well-rounded, practical advice on any issue that may arise.

Dana takes an empathetic but straightforward approach to every concern and strives to deliver proactive, best-practice advice to aid associations in avoiding pitfalls and liability. Creative yet practical solutions come naturally to Dana, and she is eager to help make HOA Boards’ and community managers’ lives easier through conflict resolution with a calm but firm disposition.

Dana graduated from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and previously earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a Paralegal Certificate from North Hennepin.

Dana practices in the following areas:

  • Community Association Law
  • Community Association Collections
  • Cooperative Housing Law

In her free time she enjoys musical theatre, karaoke, crafts, camping/hiking, Minnesota sports—especially the Timberwolves, and watching the Golden Girls.
